1.      Project Overview: The Kotik Foundation has commenced a project called Kotik Mitra- Integrated Counselling Services with the goal of empowering Indian citizens through in-depth counselling in a variety of areas. This initiative aims to empower individuals by offering guidance, support, and advice in crucial domains such as career, legal, healthcare, justice, livelihood, culture and many more. We want to help people make wise decisions, overcome obstacles, and pursue a better future by providing support, guidance, and professional advice in these important areas.

2. Project Objectives:

  • Provide counseling services in multiple areas to address the diverse needs of individuals in India.
  • Empower individuals to make informed decisions and take necessary steps for their personal and professional growth.
  • Increase awareness and knowledge among individuals in the areas like legal, career, education, healthcare, environment, justice, livelihood etc., ensuring access to appropriate resources and support.

3. Project Activities:

a) Career Counseling:

  • Conduct career counseling sessions to help individuals explore career options, identify their strengths, and make informed decisions about their professional paths.
  • Provide guidance on educational options, skill development, job market trends, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Assist in resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies.

b) Legal Counseling:

  • Offer legal counseling services to individuals seeking advice and guidance on legal matters, such as family law, property disputes, employment issues, consumer rights, fights for justice, RTI, civic etc.
  • Educate individuals about their legal rights and responsibilities, and help them understand legal procedures and available remedies.
  • Provide support in navigating the legal system, drafting legal documents, and accessing legal aid.

c) Health Counseling:

  • Provide health counseling and guidance on health-related matters, including disease prevention, treatment options, mental health support, and lifestyle management.
  • Educate individuals about healthcare resources, government health programs, and available support systems.
  • Offer emotional support and coping strategies for individuals dealing with health challenges.

d) Human Rights Counseling:

  • Offer counseling services to individuals facing human rights violations or discrimination.
  • Provide guidance on human rights laws, protection mechanisms, and avenues for seeking justice.
  • Advocate for human rights, equality, and social justice, ensuring that individuals are aware of their rights and empowered to assert them.

e) Livelihood Counseling:

  • Conduct livelihood counseling sessions to support individuals in enhancing their employability, exploring income-generating opportunities, and developing sustainable livelihood strategies.
  • Provide guidance on vocational training, entrepreneurship, microfinance, and self-employment initiatives.

4. Fee Structure: We understand the importance of affordability and accessibility. While our counseling services involve costs related to professional fees, resources, and administrative expenses, we strive to make them accessible to individuals from diverse financial backgrounds. The fee structure for our counseling services is designed to be flexible and affordable. we may provide fee waivers or discounts for individuals facing financial hardships.
